Slave Zero observations
They do not support the suround sound features, because Turtle Beach will not release or develop drivers for linux. So if I want all the features the card has to offer I must use windows. This can be a problem if your dedicated to linux. I like the card, but wish they supported Linux.

Most CD/DVD/CDR/CDWR Roms\Rams\Players make some sore of spinning noise then a disk is being played. unless its effecting playpack or causing other problems, then you should be worried, if you just can't stand the noice, turn up your suround sound system or ignore it.

Windows media player comes with that codec, and since you have audio is not a problem :-) You probably need the divx codec, available almost anywhere. You should install an AC3 audio codec as well. Some downloadable films use AC3 audio. It gives you suround sound with the right sound card and speakers
